<a href="#comment-184" rel="nofollow">@Shaddz </a>
I agree. I remember the last thing that was put out by the web series right before T-bag died, the 12 Days of Christmas. I still play that every year and smile. I think the web series was a more polished product, but severely "dumbed down". The web series is still my favorite. Although I wouldn't turn down another TV series, I would prefer a continuation of the original.

<a href="#comment-185" rel="nofollow">@Christopher Long </a>
Sorry Christopher, I should give respect where respect is due. You are part of the original gamers, and without your generation some of todays greatest games wouldn't be here.

Shhh, something like that may already be in the works ;)

I agree - the web series was unique, hilarious, and at times, just completely out-there ingenious. The web series didn't catch me on the first episode, but as I kept watching it, I grew to love it - no, more than love. It made everything that I felt was nerdy, obscure and otherwise non-relevant into something cooler, funnier and shared by an entire generation. It was part of the spark behind the cultural revolution in gaming, a catalyst for something much, much bigger than the creators of the show ever intended. With all of the difficulties they've had, I would understand if they wanted to stop the show for personal reasons - but not having the funding? Now that's a cause that I think we, the "gamers" can help with. I'm all for organizing a funding program to help pure pwnage return for a new season. :D

Personally, I never saw it, and while I do consider myself a gamer, I think we need some new terminology, here: I'm a *real* gamer. I play role-playing games, and I'm not talking MMORPGs, those are not at all about role-playing.

We pencil-paper-and-dice gamers had the word first. I think you video gamers need to give us back the term, and start referring to yourselves as "technogamers" or something. :-D

Or maybe vidgamers? That might work, but I like Technogamers better, it has some panache to it, some mystique.

But until you buy some books and dice, you can't be a "true" gamer.

Sorry, pal, but us old farts were here first! ;-)

After T-Bag died in real life in December 2008, the show just... stopped. Even, for the most part, Pro At Cooking (Dave's minishow), which I also loved. The Showcase series was in itself a bastardization of the web series. I think the only time I laughed at the Showcase version was with the pre-season web shorts, namely the ones where Doug and Jeremy take an acting class, and the one where Jeremy realizes that the food on-set was free.

I am a long-time fan of PP. I wish the guys there the best, and I hope that they can bring it back. I know Jarett and Joel were each doing their own side-projects, namely the game that Jeremy was talking about at the end of the most recent episode of the web series. But we all wish that they'd bring back the web series. It was genius, the story was engaging and somewhat believable, and the characters were memorable. I think the part of the Showcase series that I despised most was that Anastasia and Dave were nowhere to be found.

Sucks balls.

Anyway, thanks for trying to breathe some life into it by bringing it to people's attention.

Sincerely,

Shaddz
